Description

Along the tour, your guide will point out Indian petroglyphs left over from the ancient Native Americans.

Another point of interest is an old adobe building that served as a way station for the Butterfield Overland Stage Coach Company during the 1860's. For a short time this also serviced the Pony Express on what was know as the "Butterfield Route."

The real highlight of the tour is Box Canyon. You'll be in the canyon for about six miles. The middle 3 miles is slot canyon with walls only about 10-20 feet apart that are about 900 feet high on both sides.

Other Important Information:

  • Safety and Training - The owner is a nationally certified ATV Safety instructor who trains all of the guides. You'll get hands on training before your tour in a custom built ATV training course. All drivers will be trained and evaluated for safety before the tour begins.
  • ATVs - The ATVs have fully automatic transmissions for easy driving, plus storage compartments for all your stuff. The ATVs are street legal and registered, and approved by the Arizona Department of Transportation to carry two riders.
  • Damage Deposit - A valid credit card is required for a damage deposit authorization on the day of your tour. Your card will not be charged if your ATV is returned undamaged.
  • Rules of the Road - When riding double, the combined weight of the riders and cargo on an ATV cannot exceed 460 pounds. Passengers must be at least 5 years old or weigh over 50 pounds. In some cases, a hill may be too steep for the ATV to carry the weight of two persons, so one person will have to walk/hike up the hill while the other drives the ATV.
  • Young Drivers - Must be at least 15, as stated on the liability release form, which must be signed by a parent or guardian. There is no insurance coverage if the driver is not actually 15 years old.
  • Arizona Law - All of the trails use or cross over county maintained roads that require a valid drivers license. The license can be from any state in the USA or a foreign country.
  • All Drivers must pass the training test in a controlled area.
