Travel from Phoenix through the Pima Indian Reservation and then to Lost Dutchman State Park where you'll enjoy a walking tour in the unique Sonora Desert.

We'll also visit Goldfield Ghost Town prior to a delightful lunch in Tortilla Flat - population 6!

After lunch, travel the Apache Trail on 22 miles of rugged mountain roads, past three desert mountain lakes.

There will be several photo stops before we take you through the amazing Tonto Basin before our return to the Valley of the Sun.

There is a $3.95 processing fee per order. This is a flat fee regardless of the number of tickets or tours purchased on an order.
There is a service charge per ticket. This charge will be reflected on your summary before you checkout. The total shown includes any and all taxes, fuel surcharges, and service fees. There are no additional charges.

Cancellation Policy: There are no refunds. All sales are final.

Change Fee Policy: If changes are allowed on a tour or activity, a $20.00 per reservation change fee will be applied for any change to a reservation. Please note that some tours and activities do not allow any changes. Date changes can only be made only if we can confirm availability on the new date. While we cannot guarantee any changes can be made, all change requests must be submitted a minimum of 72 hours prior to the tour departure and must be handled on an individual basis through our Reservations Center.

The Tour

This tour begins with a drive through the Pima Indian Reservation. Next, it's on to Lost Dutchman State Park. Join us for a short walk among the incredible vegetation of the Sonora Desert, the only desert of its kind in the world. Your knowledgeable guide will identify the plant life unique to this area.

We'll visit Goldfield Ghost Town. Take a walk down Main Street and explore the many shops and buildings.

Enjoy a true Southwest lunch at Tortilla Flat, which boasts a population of 6 people! There will be some time here for browsing at this historic stage stop.

Next, the "Adventure" part of this tour begins. We will travel on the Apache Trail into some of the most spectacular and rugged desert mountain scenery you will ever experience. Thrill at the narrow, curving 22 miles of unpaved roadway. You'll see 3 beautiful desert mountain lakes: Canyon, Apache, and Roosevelt Lakes.

We'll stop for pictures at Fish Creek Overlook - the "Little Grand Canyon." Another stop will be for views of Roosevelt Dam and Lake, the oldest artificial reservoir in Arizona. This unique dam, dedicated in 1911, was the world's largest "cyclopean-masonry" dam, a Greco-Roman style of building that uses huge, irregular blocks. It is now covered by concrete reaching a total structural height of 357 feet! Travel on the longest single span, two-lane, steel arch bridge in the U.S.

We will then drive through the amazing Tonto Basin. Tonto Basin was formed by Tonto Creek with the Mazatzal Mountains to the north and the Greenback mountains to the south.

After an incredible adventure in the Sonora Desert, you'll return back to the Valley between 4:00-5:00 pm.

Your tour will be conducted by an Arizona Guides Association Certified Guide who has been extensively tested for knowledge of Arizona and hand picked by us for the ability to provide you with a tour you will treasure forever. Your vehicle will be attractive and will accommodate your group comfortably.

We use deluxe 15-passenger vans on our tours. They have comfortable seating, large windows, air conditioning and heat, as well as a speaker system so everyone can hear the guide. We rotate seats throughout the day. We provide complimentary bottled water on the vans, and admission to all listed attractions is included.
